I'll start off by saying, I have no idea what a possible solution could be. That's why I need you guys.

I have a account sales thread and a services thread, so don't say I don't deal with enough people.

Official Middle Men vs Middle Men

Time and time again i've had people tell me they'd perfer using a normal MM over an OMM. Why?

    1) (the only logical reason) Most have base fees, once people become OMM they 99% of the time stop free MM'ing..so it's much easier just to go to a MM with a decent amount of vouches to do it for free. Nothing we could do about this anyway..

    2) "I don't trust them." Nobody that has denied using an OMM and asked to use a MM has said much more than that. So I took it upon myself to look further into the inner workings of the process. It's hard to become an OMM simply put. There are plenty of temptations to scam people and run off, but if your legitimate you stick through and eventually your application is accepted.

So I ask you Sythe community, why do so many people perfer MM over OMM? What can be done to reduce the amount of people that won't use OMMs for various reasons?

As mainly a seller I feel more comfortable with an OMM, but that's just me personally.

You said it yourself... no one wants to pay that extra for an OMM's fees.

If you don't want to pay the extra fees I don't want to hear complaining when those people get scammed.

Keeping in mind there are plenty of regular trusted MM's.

If they provide the second reason when you ask why, then its a pretty safe bet that its a scam. But yeah its usually because of our fees that turn people away.

Who I would use would be decided on the trade amount, < $50 I would use a trusted MM and stuff worth anymore I would probably use an OMM.

I'd use a trusted MM over an OMM because of the fees.

I hate hearing people bitch about getting scammed with a MM. If you are worried about being scammed but are to cheap to pay a fee, then don't complain. You guys really don't know how rigorous the OMM application process is. I really feel like all OMM's deserve being paid the fee for that reason alone. Yes some fees are expensive, but would you rather a $150 trade if you are willing to risk $150 with a regular MM, or spend $165 and know your trade will be completed safely.

TBH, if i was moving more money than $100[partyhats/rares] then I would definitely use an OMM and pay the fee or if I was trading an account because they have a better understanding of all the different ways people can scam and recover their accounts back that I don't, but otherwise, i would rather find someone who would go first to me, because tbh, the only person I trust is me.

Not sure i see your problem? If you want an OMM so bad just pay the fees yourself and don't leave it to the other person.. Also there are plenty of very trust free MM's and if no one ever used them then there would be no OMM's.

If you have someone that doesn't want to use an OMM because of the fee, then pay it yourself. If someone insists against using one when you've offered to cover the cost then I'd be very hesitant to trade with them.

Please, look through the OMM application and imagine to yourself that you one day actually did it. After that time and effort would you want to MM for free for kids that ungreatful for your help?

There are good MMs out that are working on their OMM application, use them if you don't want to pay. I usually redirect those people that are hesitant to pay to them instead.

If you want to use a OMM, then by all means pay for it. 10% isn't that much to ask for the added security.

It's kind of an unproductive commentary when you don't pose a solution to the problem.

I'm not willing to pay fees, i'm just saying i've ran into people that perfer MM's over OMM's. And over 5 people have posted about the prices, I understand this, if you read thoroughly I said "Nothing we can do about this anyway..." Please start analyzing reason two.

And i'm a seller, if they won't go first or use a MM I agree on, then we don't trade, simple enough. I'm not asking for business advice, i'm attempting to compare the general population's opinions on Official vs Non-official.

    I don't use omms because

    1.Fee
2.I'm trying to get this trade done and over with and move onto another one or something else they want me both of us to fill out forums, pm him, post on the thread (I understand its safety for both them and the parties trading) but I have enough vouches from selling accounts to understand how to trade. Just let us give you the info, you change it. Wait till he sends money, give him info, over and done with within minutes.

I personally don't care if its an OMM or a regular trusted mm who has lots of vouches.

But the same kid will go to the store and buy a video game for $30.00, and pay the added $3.00 for the 1-year warranty. >_>

OMM's provide security to users. We're truly here to help you in your trades. You may think we only care about money, which may be true for some, but honestly the majority of OMM's gained such a status for to help reduce the amount of scamming on this site.
