Nexus client

I'm having problems running the nexus client overnight. It works fine as long as im right by it, but if i try to keep it running overnight, i wake up and see that my computer has restarted. I know the bots are capable of doing this because i ran it for 3 days straight on my desktop, but something on my laptop is causing the computer to shutdown. I've already changed the power control settings to never shut off, but it restarts anyways.

 

It might be because computer inactivity have you checked your battery setting's to make sure the box is unchecked.... It says something like shut-down after a certain amount of hours.

 

ive done that, i just turned off automatic updates that might be the issue

 

That probably fixed your problem right there, because their is always updates and upon updates if they auto-install shortly after the computer will restart... I believe its 10 minutes after updating. Instead of turning it off you should just tell it to ask first in case the update is important.

 

yeah hopefully this fixes the problem, but if not its gonna be a pain in the ass. Id really like to start getting those 24 hour+ proggies

 

If you have a Dell laptop it might be shutting down due to overheating.
Dell laptops have a temperature sensor in them that makes them go into an emergency shut down when they reach a certain temperature. It's annoying as balls because botting usually uses makes the comp hot quick.

 

I have a cooling fan I place my laptop on for when I leave it on overnight. Mine will overheat if left on for hours on end. You should buy one, they're pretty cheap..
