Reasons I ask:
- Stupid suggestion, if you knew why they disabled it in the first place
- You type horribly
- You made two double/triple posts on the same page, within one hour, on your own thread.

People can still take back payments that are gifts, and your PayPal will be limited for accepting gifts when they are payments. What the fuck do you mean you saw it on Youtube?

 

So about this then, make it so you can donate money thru paypal only if you have a verified paypal and like are a trusted member of Sythe. and btw paypal gifts cannot be reversed.

 

sythe was lagging thats why it was double posted.......I prob wasnt serious with sythe when they disabled it and paypal has done some major upgrades to there term/policies in the last 4 months. Also theres a video on youtube explaining how to not get fooled on pay-pal.

 

Just about anything can be reversed...whether through paypal, your bank, or your credit card provider.

 

Matthew does. We've tried PayPal before and too many idiots manage to abuse the system. I'd love to have PayPal as an option, but I realize that it only takes one person to ruin it for the whole, which has happened in the past.

 

I'm not saying you can reverse the payments all the time, however it is still possible. No matter what you write or how much you say that it was a gift, people can still use stolen paypal accounts or stolen CC's, or claim theirs was stolen, which is what I mean by saying all paypal payments can be reversed, even gifts.

I've had this happen to me, and no it doesn't matter if I provided a service or not since it doesn't really matter as PayPal just see's it as a gift. For example, a couple weeks ago I sold someone 11 pins for $23, which he sent it as a gift and even wrote in the note that it was just a gift. A day later an unauthorized claim is filed, around a week later paypal reversed the payment.

 

Well just about anything can be reversed but GIFTS. If they are cleared justified and proven to be gifts *via contract* then they cant be reversed. Like your aunt coming to you and gives you 25$ as a gift and then demands it back. you dont have to give it back, law is on your side. Dont mean she wont like you anymore but your justified to it. Sythe just has to set it up right and have a legal contract via pm take a screenie and archive it. More donations would be recieved if you could get it via paypal.

 

Here's an idea, in the Gift Payemnt type you can include a note, In the note put your username when you send, if it gets chargedback just ban the user?

 

There is actually no way to secure paypal payments indefinitely, there's always a chance of payment reversal, if one guy/girl reverses the payments, the owner is screwed, he'll lose all the money in his paypal, and that's not fair.

 

The thing with that is it will get abused, people will get donator ranks, scam, then chargeback and leave.

Also this can lead to them just limiting/closing your account because of high fraudulent activity. I'm pretty sure if you fit into your criteria of being trustworthy, etc... Matthew *might* let you send via Western Union, which you can do with a real bank account which is what you need to be verified on paypal anyway.

 

lol....well how about trusted members get the pay-pal options, Not leechers/new people/ or anyone that is think to be scamming???. And if you use paypal you have to donate like 10$ + and you wont get the rank symbol till 14days after your reversal claim period is over. that seems fair.

 

I would definitely donate 25+ dollars if paypal was reopened

No there are alot of incidents of money getting lost in the mail.

ull be surprised at how much money*cash* gets lost. Also paypal is faster and more secure.

 

paypal is paypal you cant really change it, i sold my 120 recently and got charged back and now im negative balance

 

well give the pay pal method to those you believe are donating for the good of sythe, not for scamming/personal gain.

 

I already brought this up about a month back. Main thing is they tried paypal; didn't work. Even with Gift's they can be taken back if they want it bad enough and Sythe doesn't want to take that chance. If you want to donate "for the good of Sythe" then do it via mail/WU. Your idea is a good thought but just won't happen unless Sythe changes his mind about paypal overall.
