need some steam help

whenever I try to install any games for steam, my computer restarts itself, this is also true if i run Camtasia.

Anyone help?

If you're trying to tell me to get to steampowered forums, I've been there done that.

 

Maybe you gotta update the drivers on your video card.

even though I dont know how a video driver can restart a computer

 

Actually my old ati 9800 XT was defective and used to mess up alot when i tried turning my computer on.
