Need Some Eoc Info!

hello, i am new to forums in general. this is my first time ever being on a forum so if i do something wrong just tell me. i really am stumped on what the armor system is like on runescape after eoc.

a good example is

armadyl boots are 93 armour and 210 life points and 1 prayer
subjugation boots are 93 armour 210 life points and 1 prayer

so why do people pay 7m+ for arma than subjugation? i see that under "atk/def" in equipement tab the numbers do change a little but other than that whats the difference? also when it says "type" (melee,range,mage) does it negatively effect a different armour set? like if i was wearing full bandos and decided to wear subjugation boots and gloves would it negatively effect my bandos? is that why people buy each separate item for each separate class instead of mixing for cheap alternative?

You're supposed to wear items in the same class that you're using.

So if you're meleeing, wear melee armour.

Most armours dont really give a positive boost, but they do have their specific strengths/weaknesses to balance the combat triangle out.

For instance, melee armour is strongest against range, while range armour is best vs mage attacks.

If you wear range armour while meleeing, your dps will be lower.

 

Perfectly explained. You don't see people wearing mage robes when they melee very often, as it's got really bad bonuses, but some occasionally wear range armour as the dragonhide has good magic protection (e.g bloodveld tasks)
