Need iPod Touch Help

Hello sythe, so i have the iPod touch 4th generation.

I jailbroke it with redsn0w. The current firmware i have right now is 4.2.1
But my iTunes wont recognize the iPod touch, it charges though. So i can't add music to it. Any suggestions i should do?

 

I would say to put your ipod touch into dfu mode, and then restore the device with itunes. The only problem is that if it won't recognize it through itunes I doubt your going to be able to restore it. You can try uninstalling your current version of itunes, and then installing your ipod touch with the newest version. Although, when doing this you have to realize that it is going to update you to the latest firmware. I'm not sure what the latest firmware is/if it's jailbroken, but I would read up on that before you do something like this.

It could be redsn0w thats making it not be recognized. I'd try uninstalling Redsn0w from your iPod, and see if it will sync. If it does, re-install Redsn0w again, it could've just been a download issue. If the problem persist after downloading Redsn0w again, you've found the issue & you'll just have to keep it unjailbroken until a new jailbreak comes out.

If uninstalling redsn0w doesn't change anything, take it into the apple store, seeing as you probably just got it for Christmas it'll still have it's warranty. However if you do this MAKE SURE redsn0w isn't on it when you bring it in there, as jailbreaking breaks apples TOS and they wont fix/exchange it.
