    sorry I didn't see this sooner, if you still need advice I'd explain the situation to your parents, explain how you're mature enough for camping and that you'll "check-in" with them every now and then (give them a phone call etc)

    Glad to hear it. It might be a nuisance having to check in with them at first, but you'll be building trust as you go, just don't give them reason not to trust you for the first few times - and eventually you wont have to check in at all.
