Need helm with Picture

At school, we got told to make a simple game (minesweeper, snake, u know, those DOS ones) and its my first game, so i would like to ask if any1 knows how to insert an image to the window opened with initwindow. (ex:an image done in paint,photoshop or such and then added). I'd need to know this so i wouldn't need to mess with painting the image by pixel or such. So if any1 knows, please post a reply or PM me, or add my MSN, please!

On that window i somehow need to discplay an image (ex: a .JPG file)
