Need computer/video help

Im tring to record a full screen game with camtasia recorder.

My problem: it records but produces black/blank screen but has sound and mouse movement

Been told to do: Try to adjust hardware acceleration to none

Side problem: I cannot adjust it because it says under display settings-> advance settings-> troubleshoot, the change settings is grayed out so I cannot adjust my hardware acceleration.

I need to know how to un-grey the adjust settings so I can adjust it.

I already updated my graphic drivers to current ones and tried safe mode but had no luck.

Laptop
OS: vista-64 bit (running in standard, already switched it from aero)
Processor: Intel(r) Core 2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40ghz/2.40ghz
Memory (RAM): 4.00Gb
Graphic Card: intel(r) gm965 also known as intel(r) 965 express chipset family
Graphic Driver: with latest driver 12/2/08 7.15.10.1608
Recording Software: Camtasia 6.0 recorder (recording in full screen/lock to application)

Well you're using Integrated graphics...which obviously isn't a good thing. Try getting a graphics card? You can get them from any computer reseller, like best buy, circuit city, etc.

 

yea i kno my graphics card isnt the best but I dont use my laptop for games so im not too concerned. i just want to fix this problem. btw i didnt know it was possible to change a integrated graphics card(chip) that is solder to the motherboard; correct me if im wrong and please explain how.

 

Um I'm not experienced in the domain of laptops, however for most modern video cards you will need a PCI-E slot in your mobo, if you don't have one of those your pretty limited to shitty cards

 

bout 99 percent of all laptops have integrated graphics cards. There very few who dont but the cards for them are really expensive and are not worth it. My laptop is not a gaming laptop. But this all besides the point since im trying to override a command that I cant acess so I need help with that.

 

I would assume your hardware acceleration is SUPPOSED to be all the way UP. Because you need it up for gaming. Make sure direct draw, etc are on. Start > Run > dxdiag > Display
