    1) Upgrade more RAM
    2) Reformat
    3) Upgrade to a new computer period.

What is your processor speed? Infact, what is it?

Well since you're probably on Windows, you could always disable a lot of the extra visual features to capitalize on extra speed.

yeah, upgradin ram and reformatting is wonderful, but how old is the computer? If it's new, you must have a problem. But adding ram would be a smart way to add a little boost of speed.

If it's only a year old RAM has nothing to do wtih it. I have a Dell with a Pentium 4 processor that has been in my house for years (8 to be exact). It has 1G of RAM and runs like a dream. Just make sure you do a Disk Cleanup, Registry Clean, and if all fails, run a Vscan. Most likely you have a virus. If not, I don't have any more ideas.

    Questions I have for you:
    • What speed of processor do you have? (Right-Click on My Computer, and Click on Properties)
    • Is the RAM in your computer compatible with the hardware, and has it been properly installed?
    • What Version of Windows are you currently running?
    • How big is your Hard Drive, and how much space is currently available?

With these questions answered, it will be much easier to create a hypothesis on the speed of your computer.

i agree with with above statement the more technical info we have the better diagnosis we can give or more help. 1.25G of ram? i would upgrade the ram for a starter.. do you know the RPM of the HD or what version of Bios are you running?
