name help!

so iv'e been watching this kid, waiting from him to change his name.
After ages, hes changed his name. I went to change my name, to his old one (the one one i want), but it says "not available".
Then i add his old name and it comes up to his new one?
any ideas?

also how long does it take for a name to become free?

 

3 Months if it hes old display name.

Not 100% on it though I may be wrong.

 

It's round about 3 months I believe, just be patient and if you're really that keen... do a countdown timer of 3 months

 

You have to wait 2 months or untill he changes again.

 

You should wait until he changes his name again or when his 'last known as' tag before name. Usually takes 1 month to get removed I believe.
