My Uni Library Computers

So, yesterday I was in uni and I dropped by the library computers. I randomly decided I would browse this site, so I typed in the address, hit enter, aaand...

There IP is blocked from Sythe. BAHAHAHA I suppose that means someone at my uni (or multiple people) are lame enough to scam, etc. on Sythe on the Uni library computers.

Losers. That means I can't use Sythe on the uni computers.

 

That's pretty dumb. Wouldn't it be just that one specific computer? or group of computers?

 

I tried the 2 on either side of the one I was on and it was blocked FTL, but I found it funnier than frustrating lol...I wish it wasn't blocked so I could catch someone at my Uni on Sythe rofl

But you raised a good question about the group of computers thing...I think those are the only computers on campus that you don't have to actually log in with a student login to use, so it is probably just those haha.

 

I don't know why I would want to use Uni comps... don't everyone in Uni have laptops?

And yea, I would find it odd if every pc on the campus had the same IP address, It is possible, but pretty unlikely.

 

your university probably uses a state-wide education filter. so it would probably be the primary school kids in your area

edit: also it wouldn't be specific computers. all computers in your uni will be on the same domain that connects to the same proxy server, this is where your sites get blocked

 

I have 2 laptops and a netbook...But why would I take it out of my bag/turn it on when my break between lectures isn't that long LOL.

EDIT: To the guy mentioning the filter, they don't use that bullshit in Australia. I could look at Man on Man porn without it being blocked, but of course that is against the rules....

 

They aren't blocked at my Uni, but i'm sure there are others on my IP that aren't me. (Hence i've been banned before for 'ban evading') (wasn't me)

 

That's pretty sad, but it'd be weird to see some1 on sythe in the library.
