Was wondering what monitors you guys would choose for a dual setup. I have a Viewsonic VA2223wm at the moment that I use for my custom PC, but was going to start from scratch for a dual monitor setup. Any suggestions? Price up to 300 per monitor. Mostly use the computer for: Games, Netflix, and Programming.
Well, I have a shit Acer monitor I got for $129 back before 1080p was standard. It sucks and the resolution is jacked up. Make sure you get one that's the same size or bigger then the monitor you'll be using as number 1, it just makes things cleaner in my opinion. I won't even give you the model or name of my monitor because it sucks that bad and I wouldn't want anyone to have to suffer. Another alternative is to just get a TV and use that as a second monitor. Black Friday was just a couple days ago and I'm pretty sure you can still find some good deals if you look around.
TVs don't work as well as monitors as they do as TVs, trust me. Stay away from them if possible. IMO, you're better off going triple screen unless all you want the extra monitor for is more screen real estate. I'd suggest bumping your budget down to $200/monitor and try to get triple screens. Gaming on a dual set up kinda of fails in most scenarios since the center of the screen is usually the center of attention. The bezels of the monitors will get in the way bigtime http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824113024 Those would be alright for a triple setup IMO. Nice thin bezels, decent specs, 5ms response time, 1080p, LED backlight, HDMI, etc.
