i am muslim and i masturbate and its really wrong in my religion to masture and its a sudden urge to do it. can someone suggest anyways how i can prevent it or stop doing it?

I agree that self control is key as it's your decision to do it or not. Personally I do not think it is a bad thing unless you are doing this frequently.

If I were in your shoes I'd reconsider my religion.. but I'm not going to try to convert you or anything. There really is nothing wrong with masturbation, but if you really want to stop, it comes down to self control, or a distraction. I went 11 days recently without even thinking about masturbation even though I used to do it sometimes twice a day. Keep your mind busy and you wont get the urge.

 

MegaMatt pretty much covered it. Try to get involved in other activities so your not alone,bored and temped to do it. Beyond that it's just self control and there isn't any thing we can help you with.

 

Thanks for your replys! the thing is i have some self control but then it goes as soon as see a picture or thing that randomly pops up and i do on a frequent basis. the longest ive gone without masturbating is 2 - 3 days. what activites do you suggest me to do that will keep me distracted?

I do it and I'm a muslim. Some muslim scholars say it is prohibited and other says its not.

 

It's a very natural thing. Don't worry about it, you can't stop doing it unless you personally decide not to.

 

All I really had to do was focus on things that were difficult, my school work and anything else that takes time for me to solve (not saying I'm retarded, I just like delving into problems). I've had problems before with beating my meat, but now I can do it around 1 time per 2-3 days.

 

Find a hobby. Idle hands spend time at the genitals. haa

Watching porn and trying not to masturbate is like giving a starving person food and telling him not to eat it, it does not work.

Without getting into your religious beliefs, masturbation is completely normal at any age for a guy, so try not to think something is wrong with you spiritually, your the same as every guy in the world.

People that don't masturbate often have wet dreams in order to get rid of the excess semen in their Epididymis.

I don't think you'll be able to stop yourself from getting the urge to masturbate, so your best bet is when you get that sudden urge to divert your attention elsewhere, get your mind off it. It is hard for most guys but it should get easier as you gain more control of your bodies natural urges.

If I were you (OP), just stop looking at porn/anything that REALLY tempts you.
I never watch it, not because I don't want to, but because I don't get tempted. If you keep trying to avoid it you'll either want to masturbate more or it will actually work in your favor.
