Make mod actions visible

My suggestion is to make every mod-action visible, probably by clicking their name in the staff list it could go to a page much like ip audit which lists their mod actions.

example:

Darkest Locked x thread: 6/4/2014 6:08PM
Darkest Temp Banned x user: 6/4/2014 7:15PM
etc.

Keeps things transparent.

Preferably there would be a place to post disputes on these mod actions, rather than PM such as a subsection, but that isn't necessary.

How is this kind of transparency helpful? All I see happening is people getting flack for, for example, removing threads in the SF or something like that. There isn't really anything anyone can do that's untoward that another mod wont notice/pick up on. So what's the use of it?

 

You spam on every suggestion thread, your comments are just about as helpful as "no support" or "support"

Nothing against you, but not helpful at all.

It's helpful because it keeps mods accountable, your actions have to coincide properly with the rules, or you WILL get flack for it.

Lots of times mod actions are made and you have no idea who did it, so there isn't anyone to give feedback to/dispute the action with.

If you remove threads from that SF that are within the rules there, you deserve flack for it. If you remove a feedback post that doesn't paint you in a positive light just because you get pissed off, you deserve flack for it. Etc.

This isn't meant to necessarily appeal to staff, more to people who have to deal with mod actions.

 

You can use the whole of staff feedback thread if you believe an injustice has been done and another staff member will review the individual action.

We don't need to have a virtual brawl every time a staff member makes a mistake or does something y'all don't like. Just persue it maturely and it'll get dealt with.

 

If a staff member messes up it doesn't make sense to leave a whole of staff feedback comment that the staff member may not even read, or hope that someone else will put peices together. It makes more sense to see who applied the action, and be able to PM them or dispute it with their superior, etc.

You haven't really supplied any reason as to why not other than basically "people might get upset" if they see that they've been treated unfairly or not consistently with the rules. The implementation would be simple, and it'd be useful for keeping staff accountable and resolving disputes more efficiently.

The answer isn't to keep everything in the dark to cover the mod's mistake.

 

No, I just know what people on Sythe are like and it doesn't really pose any great benefit to outweigh the negatives it would cause. "Everything in the dark" - hardly any mistakes are made.

 

I'd rather not have this, as we can find out anything somebody did pretty quickly anyways.
