"Major staff changes"

With all of these changes... I mean, I respect quite a few of those who are still in power... but seriously... this sucks.

I mean, half of those staff members lost were the most respected, oldest members ever. With them gone, sythe has lost a lot of face value.

Sure, I understand you want change, or to bring in the new or whatever...

But ouch.

 

They're respected, but most of them were just holding a spot on the staff and doing nothing at all.

If you could see the mod logs in the Staff Lounge, you would understand.

 

but pen is there a way you could give us a veiw insie so we have some idea of what is going on below the surface as all we know is some very old and respected members have lost modship and most likely quit for as we can see no reason.....

 

Oh I understand activity, and their lack of such...

I'm just saying that it loses a lot of face value for the staff.

 

How the heck would you even know old members or anything when you've only been here for a month?

Don't worry about it. And Pen gave you a reason. They were inactive.

That's not the point, I'm just saying that losing them in the staff takes away a lot of aspects from the staff. Mainly face value as these members were so respected to lose them is a tragedy.

When we lost Vic is was just a little bad, but losing so many respected members at once is just wow.

 

You should understand that over the last few months, there has been little activity in the staff lounge. This lack of activity decreases the level of content on the user-level, because there is not enough motivation for moderation to get down-and-dirty with the user reports. With the loss of these few staff members, some of which were planning to leave anyhow, it only leaves those who are willing to help out the forum the most, allowing for fresh members to have a chance at being staff. With new members, being coached by active staff, there is a much better outcome for sythe.org in the long run. Though you are used to seeing the names of these people on the staff list, Steph's name was really only legend over time, because by the time Clash quit, both he and her had taken a back seat to the newer admins, and they were not performing their duties as asked. This had gone on for months, and it is time for a change.

 

Sentimentality and ornaments are both pointless.

I'm getting a bit tired of people being so ruthless about this. I think the right decisions were made, and that those who were demoted deserved to be demoted. (Perhaps not Cheeter).

There is very little point in having lazy staff members who do nothing but happily enjoy the privileges of being staff members.

Yeah I'm still slightly shocked from all the demotions, but I suppose it's for the best.

 

I think Steph had college or something..? Correct me if I'm wrong though. The Inactive staff deserve to be demodded IMO. I mean it really makes no since to have staff that is inactive all the time, I'm sure everybody would agree with that.

 

I do think that is a good idea "hello Miss799" But come on if they have a good enuf reason like college, yeah remember she will of had to study but like i said it is a good idea

 

While Im shocked by the CHanges I can see the benefits it could have for the forums. New staff are more active, I believe the mod logs would show tjat to.

Well, finally after years of flaming them for never demoting inactive members, they finally do, so I really don't see a reason to complain.

Some were old and trusted, but what value does that have if they are simply figure heads and do absolutely nothing for the site? It doesn't have any value.
