How to Mail Money Safely----

Intro:

Incase you're a 10 year old, or just an idiot (AHEM AHEM STEVENADRIEN), this is guide will give you a basic rundown of the US Postal Service for ya, and how one would go about mailing money safely.

Practicality and Use:

Unless you enjoy paying for everything with a credit card, paypal, or a check, you'll probably end up paying someone with a cash order at at least one point in your life. And if not... then why the fuck are you reading this guide? Go gtfo.

Basics/Supply List:

To begin with, you'll need the following...

-Envelope (Legal-Size)
-Stamps (Make sure you pay the proper postage or else your letter will get sent back)
-A Piece of paper (to write information on)
-A standard Manila folder (preferable colored)
-Money (Well you ARE paying with cash, arent you?)
-A pen (To write with... no shit..)

If you know you'll be sending a lot of cash, try to use larger bills, because a stuffed envelope is never good. Plus a new law has just been passed that if an envelope is past a certain weight, then it must be braught to the post office itself for a weigh in, and possible extra postage. It's due to the recent terrorist attacks, a prevention measure. IMO it's a load of shit but whatever...

Instructions:

So first, figure out what/who you'll be sending money to. If you don't know that, then I might suggest hitting ALT+F4. Once you figure that out, then address your envelope (DON'T FORGET A RETURN ADDRESS! Don't want money floating around in the mail with no destination...) Once you have the addressed envelope, take that sheet of paper, and if needed, write a message to the person you are sending it to. Make sure they know who the money is from.

Now break out that folder, and cut 2 pieces out of it that fit snuggly into the envelope. Some people like using a birthday card, but that's too fuckin expensive. This step is to prevent those underpaid postal workers from jackin' your cash.

Take the piece of paper and fold it into 3rds. In the center section, place your money. Fold the remaining 2 sides around it, then stuff this in the envelope.

On both sides of the envelope, place your cut up folder pieces so that there is a piece on each side of the envelope, and the piece of paper with the money is in the center.

Make sure you have everything in the envelope, and lick the end shut. Then tape the envelope shut, too. Just to make it harder for those greedy cunt postal workers to steal your hard earned moola.

slap on the stamps in the upper right corner (no shit..) and throw in the mail box.

Epic Failure of the US Postal Service:

These guys are really unpredictable. It can take from 3 days to up to a week and a half for your mail to get there, depending on where you live/where you are mailing to.

Lost mail isn't common, but it can always happen, so try not to mail over a few hundred bucks at a time.

MAIL MEN AND POSTAL WORKERS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS! Do not trust them with anything. Make sure your money is not visible externally from the envelope.

Not a lot of places take cash as a payment option, be sure to check before sending, or else you might lose your money (most of the time corporations just keep the money)

Be weary of small/shady business. I'm not saying all are not to be trusted, but sometimes they pull a "oops, we never got your money" trick on you, when they actually did. When dealing with large sums of money, use priority mailing, where you get a tracking # with your order.
