Do you need 94 mage to mage stake? I'm going to be an extremely low level mage staking, and I'll be 92. Should I get 94? From the videos I've watched you don't use ice barrage or ice blitz. Is it pointless? Is getting miasmic a good idea? I know the effects can be very good and the hits aren't bad. I just need some feedback from experienced people and people who would just straight up know. I don't care how it was 7 years ago, I just want to know how it'll be after the update. 94 mage would give me another level, and that's pointless if I'm not gonna use ice barrage. I don't want to be bitched at for not knowing so don't even bother. Thanks.

Edit: Also, any kind of advice on mage staking would really be appreciated. I would love advice for actual mage staking and mage boxing.

Close. I think I got my answers.

If I was staking I'd want to use the most nasty, frequent hitting, high hitting spell I could.

You use blood barrage because it heals you while you hit very high though. I would rather hit just as high nearly and still get hp back. I'm not going to try and be freezing anybody, so what's the point in barrage?

94+ mage is only needed if your staking movement on/obstacles on, Blood barrage (92 mage) is the most you'll need for your average no movement mage staking/boxing, As for the staking itself, Always pop the first hit with shadow barrage as it hits high and is the quickest attack spell and continue on with blood blitz/barrage, First hit is obviously an advantage, Hit me up if you wana know anything else.

Edit - I sense post whore below.

Now a days 99 mage = higher hits. So 99 is the way to go :)

Also, chaotic staff a good idea to get?

The hits aren't higher, their just more accurate. Pretty sure on that. 99 mage would add like 4 combat levels, so I don't want that at all.

you need 99 mage to mage stake.

Mage levels also increase mage defence and obviously accuracy.

anything less is asking to be cleaned.

In a staking match, here's what you'll need:
If movement is allowed, Ice barrage is an epic farcast spell.
Obstacles on, gives you a great advantage whilst hiding behind a wall and casting a spell then hiding back behind the wall, kinda like a person at Clan Wars FFA with a rune cbow who runs, atks someone lower level and runs right back in with no chance of attacking back.
Here's how i'd play it out
Ice barrage, Shadow barrage (lowers attack), Smoke barrage (poisons) Blood barrage for health, but keep ice barraging if they are still alive after 20 seconds is up due to it dealing more damage than blood barrage.

    Your watching bad vids then.

First attack shud be ice barrage. the idea is to do as much damage as u can with first hit.

if you box with staff on then yes u shud use miasmic instead OFC as higher damage.

I don't plan on using obstacles/movement. I plan on just using straight up no movement and all the other staking rules.

Why would first attack be ice barrage? I thought first one was the smoke one, for poison..

I highly doubt they'll be alot of low level mage stakers, work on raising your accounts HP through soulwars and work on 94mage

obstacles are pretty common, learn the safe/freeze spots in the obstacle arena aswell ( Ice barrage is used in obstacles, with shadow barrage then blood blitz/barrage combos )

I would still go for 94.
it'll only give 1 cb level, and you'll still be able to do either stake.

From what I've seen people seem to mage stake while others use range and such. I'm not gonna be level 40. I'm going to be 62.

I don't think I'd ever want to do other stakes is the thing though. I would never see me doing that kind of shit..

Miasmic barrage is useless unless they're using ranged or melee, it slows down their attack speed by 2x but not their magic ;]
