No, I payed with my US credit card. He requested that I purchase a amazon card from the UK version of the website. I had to do currency conversions etc when I did it.

 

Currency conversions? Its AUTOMATIC. I buy something with my card from the United States right? On my statement it just automatically converts it out into Australian Dollars.

 

Correct, it is automatic, I meant that I had to look up how much pounds I was sending since I did not know the exchange rate, then put in the equivalent amount in amazon to purchase the card. I did purchase the card, but I did not ever get a confirmation email or anything. I got a call from my CC company (I pay for the whole identity theft plan offered by my CC) some time later asking me for verification for a few purchases that I had made, and confirmed them, but still never got the amazon card, and my CC was not billed for it. So couldnt tell ya.

 

Firstly, If you're buying a Amazon card. You do not have to ENTER any amount, you click purchase and roughly pounds is half of USD. ROUGHLY. You had no reason you needed a exact conversion. Secondly, I doubt you ever got a call from your CC company, BECAUSE. ALL creditcards come with Security OR Identity theft plan you noted. It's compulsory as far as I understand.

This means you just admitted to not paying him, so after all. You're not paying him the second time.

Take this as a lesson right? Just pay the kid back. : )

 

I did have to enter an amount, and be exact on the calculations to figure out how much I was paying him. Not all CCs come with an additional security package, if it comes down to it I could probably get a screeny of the monthly fee deducted for it on my online statement.

And lastly, yes I admitted to not paying him. With an Amazon card. I offered him paypal and western union afterwords, which he didnt accept. I mailed it to him, without a tracking number, which I see now as my main lesson out of the whole thing. I am now paying him twice because of that mistake. Oh well
