Should there be seperate stats like, Attack, Strength, Defence, that you train, and leveling them levels your combat. Or perhaps, each time you level in combat you get "Points" to spend on Attack etc. to level them. Or perhaps leveling combat makes them go up gradually as you go.

yes it should have skill points like for example if you want to be a rouge you have to rank up or level up to gain skills points to acquire better skills for your class.

Yeah i like the points idea, much like Maplestory. But if it were like that it would be really sweet if you can make stat/point changes.

Perhaps at higher combat you gain more points for lvling as it is harder.

it's like this you have a normal exp bar and every time you fill it you earn 1 skill point every skill point earned is a combat level

Yes, but as you get higher levels, it gets harder to gain a cb lvl, so it should be worth more. =D

It's not an RPG without experience. So I agree with the idea that each time you level you get a certain amount to spend on each area. That's a very Diablo style, and would allow for customization. Depending on chosen class, just make certain skill levels max at different intervals than others.

Yea, I think it would take the "No-Life" feel out of it, because in RuneScape you train for hours and are awarded 1 strength level, this way when you get a combat level, you are awarded several other levels, thus making the reward feel greater.

Just because you didn't play it doesn't mean it's not the best game out. I wouldn't mind a leveling system based on diablo 2 though.

Points, as twinking and buffing can be incorporated easier.
In this system when you level up you get a certain amount of points which you can put into a variety of skills (skills raise higher depending on your race/profession.) And as you get to a higher level you gain more points per level.
With this you can add A LOT more skills than "attack, stregnth, gay, gay, gay".

Just take a look at Anarchy Online.
