Leecher status

Hello,

I want to get everyone's attention on the Leecher status.
For the newcomers, you get this status/name when you have less than 25 posts.
I really hate the fact that people are yelling at them so hard.

Always saying 'Oh, he is only a leecher so he doesn't know anything'
What is this crap? Why can't we treat everyone in the same way?
We are all humans, we are all the same, so act like it!

Just because you joined a few months/years earlier or posted more it doesn't mean that you are better than Leechers. Everyone is equal here, even the mods. Though they have a higher rank, they are still persons, with a life, with feelings, just like everyone else.

Once you say these kind of things you will not gain respect, you will not look cool, you look dumb! And I think a lot of people agree with me.

Also I notice the people who are saying this are mostly the people who get like 200 posts in a month. People who care about postcount.
Well it doesn't matter at all!! if it comes down to respect. You gain respect, you don't get it by raising your postcount, you earn it by being nice and friendly and by helping this community.

This is what bother me and wanted to share.

I'm not mad at the leecher status, the post counts just mean that the others are a bigger nerd than me =)

 

Because some 8 year olds here think the higher your post count is, the more you're welcomed and trusted.

 

but leecher status does make sense to an extent. How many noobs come here just to scam people? A lot more than legit new people

Still I think people should treat everyone with the same amount of respect.
Don't judge someone by there Rank or Status.

 

i no im new joined 5 days ago but i do try to post once a day. and it is true people seem to lack respect for people who just registered. an it is true there are more scammers then ligit people that are new. but when you think about it those people usualy get banned. thats just how i think about it.

 

Well, at the same time... I mean mostly leechers are the ones who scam, come here with right away and start to scam, but theirs also people who earn their way up get about 10 vouches, 500 posts and then get big scams.. So don't fall for post count. POST COUNT DOESNT MEAN SCAMMER/TRUSTWORTHY.

 

Join Date means a shitload more than Post Count, I would trust an active user who joined in 2006 or early 2007 who has a small amount of posts.

 

yea you see plenty of that here. it isnt right if you come to this site you should be trustworthy and post count shouldnt matter. but many people just look at post count. vouches do help but then some1 can go rouge. but then some1 with little or no vouches could be the best person in the world to trade with.

 

postcount doesnt mean u better if u get vouches then u just like any other.

Agree, i have this Leecher status, and i don't consider myself one... But still...

 

So... maybe leecher status should be given to people with a post count under 25 that have been a part of the community for over a month? That would prove that they are in fact just leeching things.

also vouches arn't everything its the value of the vouch. A lot of people come here getting vouches for free training or doing tut island... crap like that,then they think they're trusted.

 

basicly thats what i was thinking. because leecher is a derogitory term it shouldnt just be given to people who have just started.

 

Really what is the point? Just contribute something important and don't spam you will have your damn member rank and than you can laugh at most leechers like most of us.

I agree about the vouches some are crappy like tut island, and there should be a rule against it unless it's like 5 accounts at once.

This argument is made a lot. People go on and on about how having the word Leecher under your name is a dreaded curse of embarrassment and shame, and having the word Guru under your name makes you amazing, trusted and welcome here on Sythe. It's ridiculous. I could be just as trusted as an Apprentice, but because they have 650+ posts they are chosen over me. Being here longer doesn't mean your not a scammer. I could stay in the RS2 General, General Discussion, Tunes Analysis, User Suggestion forums etc. etc. and not go into the black market once until I have 1k posts, and then scam the first account I got my hands on. It makes no sense, it really doesn't. Some people to grow up. Really.

I didn't mean a higher rank, I meant they have a rank with which they can do more. For which they have more power. Not that they are higher than us.
