    I disagree about Python - it's a great language.

I'd say learn Delphi first. I learned vb6 first and I later moved onto Delphi. Delphi is easy to learn, and it's more advanced than VB6.

Then I'd suggest moving onto C. I moved from Delphi to Objective-C (i'm using xcode) pretty easily because I had a basic understanding of everything.

I wouldn't reccommend Delphi. It's old now. You'd really be better off learning something which is going to be useful.

Honestly, learn something that it widely used today (C++/C#/VB.NET).

Also, not much point in learning C unless you want to do really low-level stuff.

Don't even bother with VB6 or VB.Net. You will regret it if you get serious about programming.

I recommend delphi so that you can feel like you accomplished something..

If you jump into C++ and your programs dont work like you want them too then you will feel bad about programming...

Besides you need to go about it like building blocks

C#/VB have better GUI builders than Delphi... and they aren't outdated.

Everyone who is saying go for c++ or java are wrong. Visual basics 06/08 is something you should be working on when you are intrested in becoming a computer programmer. So yes vb 6 is a good way to start. A good place to start is look up youtube vids i guess. I am a pc programmer and started just by looking on youtube for tuts and playing around with vb. Hope i helped :)
