    Laptop Botting.

    Hey,

So I'm currently staying at a relatives house meaning I'm using my laptop.

I was planning on botting for the next ~24 hours on this laptop.

So my question is, is it 'healthy' to bot for long periods of time on a laptop, as my main concern is overheating although I am using a cooling pad.

What is roughly the maximum period of time that a laptop can be used to bot?

I'm running a quad core processor with 8GB ram.

    Thanks in advance.

Personally: I bot all the time on my laptop.

Seems to work fine, although, mine doesn't get hot. I get 2-3 day proggies. Up to you though.

Nothing is going to harm your laptop. I haven't turned my MacBook Pro off for about 2 months now, and everything is fine with it still. Running 4 bots constantly, 24/7.

Thanks heaps for the feedback boys.

Definitely have reassured me to try botting 24/7 on the laptop now, haha.

However I have an issue when I close the laptop (By that I mean folding the laptop close) it automatically locks, therefore none of my programs run (in the background).

Is it possible to close a laptop without it automatically locking?

If I'm not making myself clear, I'm sorry and please ignore the question, haha.

    Thanks.

Right click the battery and change the settings there.

    Thanks mate.

Should I change the settings to Hibernate or will that also stop any running programs which I currently have running (bot)?

I also just read this: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/719062

    And this: http://h20239.www2.hp.com/techcenter/battery/Battery_max.htm?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

I've now taken out the battery of the laptop to simply maximise it's life cycle.

I'm hoping this does not affect anything whilst botting 24 hours.

My options are "When I close the lid":

    - Do nothing
    - Sleep
    - Hibernate
    - Shut down

    Thanks again.
