Keyboard + Mouse Problem

Hi,

I've recently developed a problem whereby my mouse and keyboard will stop working randomly after a random amount of time. The F-mode light on my keyboard will flicker on and off, but the Num lock stays on. My mouse also still has power to it when this happens, but i'm unable to use either and the only way to fix it is to hard-reset the machine. It's incredibly annoying, as the reset of the machine carries on like normal.

I'm currently installing service pack 1 to see if that will fix the issue.
I've updated the drivers, that is not the problem.
I've tried various USB ports, and I'm not sure if they are the cause of the problem. I'm really hoping it's not a hardware related issue.

Is it a wired or wireless keyboard and mouse.

 

Brands?

 

Wired.

Logitech, both. Media Keyboard 600 and MX518 mouse.

The problem hasn't come back for a while now so I assume i've fixed it.
