Just got scammed

I just got scammed from a steam trade for 40$, can anyone help me in getting it charged back?

 

Explain the trade, were you selling or was he? And what form of payment did you use?

He was selling, I sent him 40$ via Paypal under the "gift" option (I've heard that people can chargeback regardless of this though)
After receiving payment, he jerked me around a bit about getting the information to me, then I never got it at all, he stopped responding and shortly after he went offline.
This was obviously my fault, I'm too trusting for my own good, I just wanna know if I can mend some of this damage.

 

Did you pay through credit card on your paypal? Chargebacks only come from credit card payments. If not I guess your only other way would be to claim an unauthorized transaction, which I doubt will work because I doubt you paid on a different IP.

 

It's hard to reverse a PayPal payment unless you previously intended to before sending payment.

 

Yeah, I payed through my debit card. I didn't use an alternate IP.
I screwed the pooch here, huh?

 

Cancel The Payment From The Debit card..? call your bank D': scammers are ass holes..

 

I'm sorry that you're in this situation. I think that the best thing to do would be to claim that he never shipped the "goods". Ask him for a tracking number.

The money isn't showing on my bank account yet, but a purchase I made at the same time through paypal has.

 

Fill a scamm report on report a scammer section maybe you can get refunded .
