but you never forget your first <3. Just downloaded and made a sig on gimp. Really simple just learning to mess around with it.
Thanks! Didnt have to wait long. This is actually after me taking my time and not doing a 2 minute peice. Actually kinda like it the picture turned into text was stupidly hard, and i didnt get the full effect i wanted. I can see why people like GFX
Haha I agree with you on that, I'll always remember my first signature I cut out the render and everything Seems as if you put more time and thought into the second one, good job there's already a lot of improvement there. I recommend switching over to Photoshop though, It will pay off in the long run when your graphics start getting more advance. Gimp is more of a beginner program, which is good for now but once you start trying to achieve harder effects, you'll find them much easier to do in Photoshop. Sometimes applying effects in GIMP takes a little more time, as there is not so much automation available but if you know what you're doing, there's not much that can't be achieved in GIMP. As always practice makes perfect, you'll only improve over time so don't give up. Watch some tutorials to help you get a better understanding of the program and what some of the tools do. PM me if you ever need help with your graphics or just have questions, keep it up mate
Hey thanks for the input! I'd prefer to the the basics down before I switch over from GIMP, but for now it basically has what I need. Currently going to see if i can work on getting some kind of 3d text going on.
All my peices seem to go with the same style, I might try a 3D signature soon with some kind of lighting.
I remember the style of my first signatures but they're sadly long lost. When you've been at this thing for 6 years on and off that tends to happen. My biggest recommendation is to watch and read as many tutorials on tagging as possible and stay away from C4D unless you're making your own C4Ds to tag with.
The quality is about the worst thing about it, it's pixelated alot. @ the pika one. It's not bad for first try splash screens.
Hey thanks for your input! would that be something I can fix inside of gimp itself? or does it have to do with where i get the picture/quality.
It probably has to do with your base images, the higher the quality of those, the higher quality your final outcome is.
Not too bad I am pretty new to gimp myself, I just finished making the signature I have right now last night, and this one was the other day.
Haha, yeah I thought the text turned out awesome. I had to do it letter by letter but I definitely liked how close to the actual logo it was.
