is runelite safe?
one of my friends had an issue but we are'nt sure if it is because of runelite or not
Anyway, he bought 1b and got Twisted bow, he played for an hour and then he logged off at GWD, 15 mins later he logged in he saw his account on G.E with no gear. but he had 30m on bank was safe
his pc was clean , no one know his passwords but sadly his acc didnt have 2FA just a bank pin

 

Yes, RuleLite is safe. Jag approves it. Your buddy (not saying he did) could have logged into a bugged site posing as the official one, and with no 2FA enabled, they could have easily logged on to the account.

 

The fact that they didn't know bankpin says a lot. Most likely his username + password combination was the same he used elsewhere. Meaning he either got keylogged (virus/malware) or that his username + password combination was found in a databreach. To check the latter you can visit this website. https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Simply fill out his email there and you will see if this email was found in a data breach (hacked forums/websites)

Some practical tips:
use different passwords for different websites, always use 2step verification when possible. Especially on Runescape accounts.

 

As long as you download it from the correct website. There's a lot of fake runelite sites out there
