Is luring dead?

For the first month after the Wildy came back, I made about 120mil luring. Nothing spectacular, but it was a nice chunk of change. Nowadays, I'm lucky if I get guy to fall for it. The way I see it, the only way to effectively lure is to exploit some unknown bug like the lending glitch.

I'm getting maybe one victim a night. None of these are exactly run-of-the-mill lures either, only a fraction of the RS population knows about them. I guess RS players in general are getting smarter. I'm not a particularly bad talker but nobody wants to touch DFFA or the Wild. =|

Are you guys having any luck? Maybe I'm just bad at this.

Well, lots of newcomers didn't know them when wildy came back so they worked really well. After a while, people post them in the forums, ect, people get used to them. Now people are scared... You have to entice them with millions (like 500m+). People will risk 50m to get 500m, even though it is really only 10k.

 

I think it's the lack of originality in the lures, I remember the Ice Plateau lure when Hunting first came out -.-

Considering how ridiculously rampant luring was right after FT came back, it was only a matter of time before the general population caught on and stopped being so careless with their pixels. The days of Jojo3000 are gone now that luring is so common. Sorry man.

 

There are some 10b+ lure galleries since new wildy came out but it seems harder now for sure.

 

Its dead, Its almost impossible to talk people into it now..

 

It's alot more difficult, people have had a chance to experience it verbally from other players who have experienced it literally, luring rares or anything similar is somewhat close to an impossibility.

 

Just make it look convincing... I almost got lured at Clan Wars last week, but I'm sure some other people would fall for it if I got that close!

Originality beats peoples stupidity

 

Luring now is all about ORIGINALITY, using a well known lure, you'll get no-where.

 

It's not luring that is dead, it's your lure method, you just have to find something new, and the right victims.

 

Well, everyone has different luck with luring.
These days, JaGex go through so many precautions for their users that in truth the only people you're going to 'fool' are the younger users and the stupid users.

 

You just need a good method.
I know a few which still work as well as the Jojo3000 method did when it first emerged

 

because everyones in the whole "imma call everyone that tries to make money off me a scammer" and they act childish about it..

If people try to ice plato (sp) me, I usually stock up and try to kill the people that are waiting for me.. If I Die, so what. But usually I get a decent amount of profit. Just gotta watch for them claw specials.

 

Yup, and I do. One involves glitching skulls, and it works like a charm. I've dropped two claws and one whip with it (lost it all staking, derp), but it took ages to get them. 8/10 won't even risk. Anything involving the Wildy or DFFA sends up red flag to them. I can't blame them. =|

I get the feeling methods are harder and harder to find. After you find one, it's only good for a few days, a week at best until the community catches on. Meh.

 

Everyone seems to know all the lures these days.
