Infractions

I just read the thread on infractions but I still have a question. On my profile it says I have "1 point" from a spamming violation.

1. I don't know what it is from because it says "Private"
2. What does having "1 point" entail?

 

Once you accumulate 5 point's you'll receive a temporary ban. 1 point is basically a warning to be careful of your posts, or whatever the infraction was for.

 

1. If it's private it means the post has been deleted or the thread it was in is deleted or moved somewhere you don't have access to.
2. It's just 1 point. Most infractions are 1 point each.

 

If you think it was a mistake you can contact a mod and speak to them about it.

You got it for spamming someone's thread saying their service seemed like a scam.

Most infractions are 1 point. They expire after a month. They're just a warning to abide by forum-wide and section rules. Make sure you're familiar with those and you'll be fine. If you accumulate 5 in a month you'll get a 3 day ban and if you acquire 7 in a month you'll get a 7 day ban. Multiple temp bans will sometimes lead to a section ban or a longer, temp ban in serious cases.
