I deal with this topic most of the time, having a brother who is 15 and all. How do you make people less immature? I have told him to read books, he has. I have tried to talk simple to him, and everything gets turned into a sex comment, or he just does not listen.

    How can this be fixed?
For the person this is directed to, do not reply to this thread, as you know nothign that could help me.

I used my little brother as an example to get attention away from this other kid for awhile.

Tell him to get a girlfriend/boyfriend. Whatever rocks his boat. When you have a girlfriend/boyfriend, you realize that being immature is stupid and makes you look bad. Tell him to make more friends also.

    ^That's actually pretty good advice.

As well, for most people, maturity comes with age. While a few of us on Sythe gained what one could call sensible maturity at early ages, for the majority of people, 15 is a very young age to expect maturity.

As well, it's not something that can be truly beaten into another person. Telling someone to become mature doesn't make them mature, because of how their immature mind responds to it all. In saying this, I mean, conversation with your brother in hopes of making him mature more than likely won't work.

Thanks, but honestly I do not know how old this certain person is. I was using my brother as a decoy while talking about this other guy/girl. Thanks Arya and Necromancer.

Shiiit im 17 and i still rock your mom jokes, or thats what she said. Introduce him to one of your friends. Dont get him on Facebook or Myspace girls. 40% are fucking guys. Tell him to be smart about who he talks to. Or tell him to MSN me and him and I can talk females.

^^ if that doesent work, Use Max Stevey as the name or my MSN as my email.

If you convince him to chat with me im pretty sure i can have him pursuing girls in no time. I hope this helps :)

Thanks if this person keeps up with it I will refer him to you. But for the most part I think I have hurt them bad enough by not replying (giving them fuel), and this thing is starting to subside. I hope.

And you've talked to him about this? I asked because I myself have a 15 year old sister and pretty much if she comes to me for advice she listens. If i confront her about it, she changes. Could be different for a girl and a guy, his hormones are rolling through like crazy. Hes family for you though, you just have to realize that. Siblings are a pain in the ass, and thats how life is.

Dude you have it all mixed up. I used my brother as an example, it is not really my brother who is immature. My brother is actually in A.P classes in school, which are advanced placement, and he is not immature (all the time). I was directing this thread towards a certain person who was very annoying, and immature, in my pm.

I know I should have ignore listed him, but I never ignore list anyone. I like to hear what people have to say, that makes me form a picture of who I am talking to over the internet.

You can't make some mature it comes with time and self discipline they have to want to change themselves. I know a lot of people very immature for their age but they simply don't care. When they meet that person they like but rejects them because of how they act they will learn.

Talk to him about how immaturity is not cool, and no girl will ever go out with him if he continues to act this way. If that doesn't work you may just have to wait until he grows out of it.

Fifteen is pretty young to expect maturity all the time, he just needs to grow up. I can't see how setting him up with girls is going to help the problem.

He's 15, how much can you expect from him?
I really think you should stop trying to change him,and let him mature within time.

Immaturity isn't a bad thing at 15.. I can see how it would be bad at like 25, but he's 15. Just leave him be and stop trying to change people. If he's gonna mature, he'll mature on his own.

It's just the age he's at, he needs some time.. Most kids/teenagers are like that he'll grow up.
