If all bots disappeared...

Just wondering on your thoughts about the effect that removing all bots from the game would have.

Theoretically of course if all bots were removed how would the prices of these items be affected?

Yew logs

Coal

Iron

Sharks

Lobsters

Cooked foods

Runes

Feel free to add any that you think belong here. I just tried to add the most boted resources I could think of. Real gp estimates are appreciated instead of ''it would rise alot''.

prices on all would go up. there would no longer be uber amounts of it pouring into the economy every day.

 

Everything would inflate. And seeing as all bots are removed ( forever i assume ) they wont be going back down.

Essentially making you required to be able , and have the time and patience to get your own raw materials, or have alot of money ready.

 

I feel all of those prices will rise extremely high, possibly too high for an average player to use those resources to train their skills. Some items won't rise as much as expected. EX Runes won't rise as much compared to Yew logs (Since there are other aspects that effect that price also). I feel that PKers will be most effected because most of the items they use are bought from G/E, not getting it themselves( Food, Pots, Most armor)

 

No Supply , too much demand, therefore prices will rise.

But if there are no botters too, people would probably not bother to get skills like cooking/fletching/firemaking etc too as most people bot those too

 

The prices would drastically rise.
The prices of yew logs have gone up a lot even with bots, I remember selling them at 150 each and they are now around 400 each.
Without bots I would assume that they would easily reach 600 or possably higher.

 

All prices would sky rocket - Bots keep the market stable right now by keeping resource quantity up

Economically, it is fairly obvious. It has been stated many times above.

I would probably enjoy the game a lot more without bots. I could enjoy aspects such as Green Dragons and Rock Crabs without the hassle of competing against bots. I have bots myself, I just choose not to use them due to the instability.

How can you say the economy would not be so bad? As several people have stated above, all of these commonly botted items - fish, ore, etc would inflate to outrageously high prices.

Besides that, I suppose getting xp for many stats ( fishing, combat, woodcutting ) would be much easier..but still, with bots in RS, (imo at least) Jagex and the economy is benefited.

Prices would go up, douchebags would take advantage of it.
Their player count would probably drop "You mean I have to play LEGIT for mah golds?"
A lot more people would probably be working for their resources (need food? get it yourself.)
People are outraged and blame Jagex for everything

I love how everyone on the official forums go "Oh man, if bots were gone this game would be 10x better without a doubt."

Sure, less competition but..

 

This would save the game, and make it a lot better... Honestly since rs2 launched and people were devoted on making bots, the economy on runescape has gone to shit. Nobody works for their own items, they bot for them, or simply buy them in ge which come from botters.. I think they should remove all the bots would be amazing IMO.

 

whether jagex knows it or know. the game needs bots. cause nobody wants to just sit there and click on the tree. or fish spot or whatever every 2 minutes. bots keep the prices reasonable and the resources exendable. if jagex where ever to get rid of all the bots. runescape would be barely playable for the average skiller

 

No it doesn't. There are people who are willing to just sit there and spend hours getting everything on their own. And those people should recieve much higher compensation than someone who's outside or asleep while running his bot.

F2P'ers would be in heaven if this were to ever happen. The Dwarven Mines and other popular mining hot spots along with yew and fishing hot spots would explode with members. Catherby especially would be jam packed! Essentially the daily routines of players in Runescape would cycle back to the way they were in '05, '06, and 07' when bots that used reflection weren't publicly offered to us. Great question though, also would like to infer that there would be more fluctuation in the G.E. as there won't be as many accounts with ridiculously high amounts of ores, logs and raw fish like there are today. Rares would deflate as hoarders would hoard resources instead of rares.
