Yep I get this error, and I can't get on MSN to ask someone, because it keeps freezing for some dumb reason. Please help me ;D
This error occurs when the DNS records (that convert hostnames to IP addresses for actual use) are altered or non-existant (no authoritative DNS server could be located). * The DNS server for that hostname is down. * The DNS records for that domain are no longer active or valid. * The new DNS records for a domain which has changed IPs have not yet propagated so they still point to the old IP address, which can also give a Connection Refused error or Connection Timed Out error.
The DNS is fine. Try making sure you're connecting on the correct port: 6667, and the right DNS. irc.sythe.org
Probably just your ISP's DNS servers are screwed up, happens quite often. You can either go into the TCP/IP properties of your network adapter and manually set the DNS servers to 4.2.2.3 and 4.2.2.4 or easier yet just connect to 72.20.17.172 (IP of the server).
lul. Jesse's not THAT stupid.. <3 Everyone gets that message when they can't connect.. at least on mIRC. I think it was yesterday that I couldn't connect for some reason. Ask Shawn tbh... he'd know if the server was down or something. *looks around*
It works now! It gets me the message sometimes with the /s irc.sythe.org but so far never with the direct link. Thanks everyone (even u copypasta man).
