How to avoid phishers

I'm making this guide due to some of my close mates, who are stupid and ended up getting phished.

Ok lets start,

A Phisher is a duplicate of an original site, trying to get you to login using your details for the original site.

Whats happens when you login?

When you click login, all the information you've typed in the username and password box gets added into a .php file on the phishers web-hosting account.

How to tell whats a phisher and whats not? ( The Basics )

For example i tell you to go to www.Runescape.com, the link may look legitmate right now, but not once ive hyperlinked it,

I could hyperlink any other link to make it redirect to, Something.zz.zz for example.

Another example, if you have a hyperlink ( oftenly used on these forums )

www.Runescape.com

The way to check where this url redirects you to is to right click on the hyperlink and click



Then open notepad, and press CTRL+V ( Paste )

It'll then show you the link it wants to redirect you to.

OR if you're fine with clicking random hyperlinks, then make sure you check your address bar for the link your on.



as you can obviously see this isnt the real runescape link! lol

Theres some new phishing bot that masks the url to look like it is actually runescape.com. But it might be the let me have stuff site. It is crazy how advanced the world is.
