How Old?

In Michigan, or if its the same for all of the US...How old do you have to be to buy a lighter? like a reg one or a zippo.

 

I know your look for info in the US. But in the UK there is no limit. But I think most shop keepers would want you to be 16 +. I used to burn stuff. So I would ask someone to buy me a lighter

Just steal one. The clerks can't accuse you unless the thingy goes off (detection thing that beeps as you walk out if you stole something) and lighters are usually under the limit needed to make it go off.

I know that's not what you were asking, but if you're having trouble getting your hands on one, that's the way to go.

 

And what if it does go off... I'm screwed.

 

in australia you can buy it at any age, aslong as you look responsible i suppose.

 

Generally in the Pakistani shops; kids can get away with anything.

I live in the USA and when I go to buy lighters they don't care what age you are.

 

I steal mine, I don't think they have the security thingy on them, it costs more then the lighter.

 

Go to a 711 and do it. They don't have the alarms. Today after autoshop on the way back to the school, I stopped at 711 to pick up a slurpee, so I get out of my car, past one of the workers thats outside sweeping leaves (looked fun), thinking probably someone inside that will ring me up. So I get my stuff, go up to the counter, and the woman that was outside comes and rings me up. When leaving, I was thinking "Wow, I really could have just stolen some shit right there". But I did the right thing and didn't. But it shows how carless some workers are, especially at gas stations and things. Where lighters are usually right on the counter, when they turn away for 2 seconds, just slip one in your pocket. Not that hard.

Depends where you go to be honest. I know places that sell cigarettes to 16 year olds they just make them act like they show i.d. so they know.

 

I don't think here (canada) there is a limit, though it may be either 16 or 18.
