How Hacked?

This must have been Rsbot's fault.

I was botting on my account for like a week and no ban. I then log in and it says my account is stolen and then the next day it says it's locked because they found out it was stolen from me. I got it back a week later easily but the thing is that the hacker also was advertising a site according to my blackmarks. Obviously they got scratched out of my history since I was hacked but the guy was advertising a site but I can't view the evidence now. How do you think I got hacked and what website was he advertising. I had a really strong password that can't be stolen easily, could it have been the Rsbot? I uninstalled it from my computer because I was too worried about my tother accounts.

1. Did you download the Rsbot client from the Rsbot.org website?
2. Did you download anything from like Youtube or just Google? That wasn't from a secure site?
3. Have you ran a virus scanner anytime on your computer?
4. Do you know what website he was advertising? Was it an affiliate of Rsbot?

 

No it was from the Rsbot.org site. Plus I do not have a virus or I would have gotten my main and other high leveled accounts stolen.

 

You need to check the scripts you download. some of them could send your log in info to the author. Always check the credentials of the author before using someones script, expecially with the free bots.

I used the script that was on Rsbot right when I downloaded it. I didn't add any additional ones. I was using zombiefisher.

 

Then someone must of had your password from previous keylogger, or you have a keylogger on your account. Rsbot didn't take your account man.

 

yeah rsbot doesnt take accounts... ive used trusted scripts and ive never had anything taken, sorry man =(

 

Did you have any antivirus software installed at the time?

 

I would say that you maybe even got phished?

 

You probably don't update your virus definitions and have a keylogger on your comp.

 

weird, something was fishy with my account also.. after using it.

 

RSbot doesn't steal your account, you probably got a virus elsewhere. Did you open any suspicious emails or websites? Or did you log in on a website claiming to be runescape (phishing).

i dont think Rsbot sends the information like your account details away from the client so you obviously were keylogged and someone knows or knew your pw
