They mine as well just allow it. This site is all about trading. "The craigslist of virtual goods" should be able to sell work.

 

Yeah, but the section of the site where Homework Help is located is designed for offering help and support for users. Clearly not a place to gain money.

Also by offering gold or money for help with homework.
It would be far too easy to scam...

Say you would pay.
Have somebody do it.
Don't pay.
Say you did it.

There is no way to prove who did it?

 

I think payment is fair .. you pay for a tutor so why not pay for homework help?... I am sure most people will be just be happy to help for free tho.

 

I missed the fine print, and offered payment for help with a regression that I needed to figure out; not out of laziness, but urgency. I really see nothing wrong with reimbursing people for the investment of their time to help.

If anything, perhaps it would be better to simply restate what the forum is for. Ie, create a rule that people are allowed to ask for support in completing assignments (asking how certain problems are done; asking that their answers to be verified; suggesting and debating essay viewpoints, etc), but they cannot request the entire assignment be done for them. In particular, I oppose the completion of take-home/online exams and full-length essays, which I've seen several request even without offering payment.

 

I assume it has been decided that the rule will be enforced then?

Dalpra closed a few threads in the Homework section, and though he didn't mention a specific reason for doing so I'm going to assume it was because of the payments OP was offering.

 

I don't see anything wrong with reimbursing somebody with help, somebody helped me a lot with my statistics project acted more as a tutor than doing it for me so I decided to pay him for his help.

I don't think the rule should be taken away but possibly changed as I see nothing wrong with giving somebody money for their time.

One thing i have to say is getting people to do online classes shouldn't be allowed, this is just ripping off somebodies knowledge and taking credit yourself. Homework help should mean "Homework help" not "Do my homework for me"

 

I think the main distinction a lot of people are missing is help vs assignments.
I think paying for help should be up to the person asking. Money talks and offering reimbursement means better quality help and faster responses.
I think payed(or not payed) people asking for assignments they were too lazy to do should be against the rules.
