Was what Stalin did genocide though? By definition, I don't think so?

No doubt he was also a monster though, but not a genocidal maniac. Just a murderous one.

 

Well yes it was, at least in my opinion, but I see why using the term "genocide" isn't the exact deffinition of what Stalin did. Stalin Knew what he was doing, and Knew these farmers would die. He knew it. He even thought of it as a "Sacrifise".

Stalin murdered and let MORE people die in LESS amount of time, not for ethnic purity, but rather to industrialize his civilization. They were forced to do this.

But.....
Remember, most of these people who died were poor farmers, and made a specific group of people work to death. Stalin knew this and is why he didn't send the rich or powerful to die. I think "ethnicity", when it comes to genocide can refer to the different classes in a society, which may sound weird, but Stalin let the POOR die, so the Middle to upper class can reap in the spoils.


I see where you are coming from though, since the deffinition usually refers to the mass murder of a specific ethnic group, nor did those 7 million die specifically from them being murdered, but I still label what Stalin did as a "genocide" since he directly preformed an action that led to the death of a large group of specific people in the act to create a better Soviet Union. Hitler murdered a specific group of people over a large period of time in order to create a "better Germany".

But I'll just agree with you that yes, it's technically not a genocide, but what else should we call it? Im genuinely curious what you would call the deaths of those 7 million?

Stalin just murdered poor people, that's 'classism'? I don't think there is exactly a term for that. It's certainly not genocide, unless you are to class upper/middle/working class people as individual ethnic groups which isn't gonna happen.

As for what I'd call it, just mass murder works fine.

Look, I'll let you in on some secrets. Many people here reading this have no fucking idea what they are talking about when it comes to nazism or its roots and have only scratched the service of a very dense and insanely interesting turn of events throughout German history. This is not to say that what happened wasn't terribly sad. But there is a lot more at play to nazism than just Hitler, the SS, and Jews, which is what everyone focus' on with Nazism.

Nazism gets its roots from Garman Occultism and the development of Germany up into the point of Hitlers rule has a very weird, scary, and interesting view of the world... Although most mainstream Germans did not believe many of the things talked about in the topics above, may high ranking SA, SS, Luffewaffe, and the Reich believed in this shit and were die hard
