Help Please!

Hey there, today I made a payment but I mistaked and sent more then I had to and cause of that the seller had to refund me the money back, which he did. The problem is I was using a 'visa gift card' and I have to wait a week for the money to be refunded to the gift card. Question is: Will the money be refunded to the visa gift card in a week or not? I'm quite nervous as is my first time using a gift card and my understanding that I won't get the money refunded to the visa gift card. Please help!

 

According to Visa's gift card website, located here:http://www.visa.ca/en/personal/prepaidcards/giftcards.jsp (bottom of the page) refunds are allowed on gift cards. The amount of time it takes is dependent on the merchant, who has to authorize the refund before the money goes back into your account, but the maximum amount of time allowed for this is seven business days. So fear not, your refund will show up soon.

 

Back into my account? Or you mean to the gift card I didn't used no bank anything or anything like that just the gift card and the seller said the refunded money will take affect in a week which is seven days. If the seven days passed and I haven't got the money refunded means I lost it?

 

It wasn't actually the seller that processed the payment, there is a middleman (ie. Amazon, Paypal or any other company that handles CC payments) so what happens is the seller authroizes the refund, then an employee at the middleman company will have to sign off on the refund and put the money back into your account (ie. the giftcard). This is where the delay is. If you haven't gotten the refund back in seven days, contact the seller, and they will have to get in touch with whoever processes their CC payments.

 

Oh ok hey thx alot dude this helped me alot. But I got one more question: Can I request a check after I get the money refunded into my gift card ?

 

That I don't understand. Get a check from who? After you get the money back on your card, you can just go ahead and spend it where you want.
