Help maybe?

hey i have been playing rs for about 2 or 3 years now and the only ways i have been making money is threw fletching never really tried merchanting but i want to start i was wondering if someone could help me with the basics or what not i really dont want to buy one of those guides i think its a waste of money and i just rather figure it out for myself but thought i would ask for help first
