Got DDosed while PKing

I was at my friends, he was doing some risk fights in F2P.
He goes to bank and see's a kid with a Santa on, and tells him he'll risk 1B against his Santa (don't believe me if you don't want to, my friend never dies in F2P and has a 5B or so bank.
The guy asked him to go on his account and transfer money over quick, so logged in (making his IP address visible to the opponent) but I said "I wouldn't do it, he might DDos you while you're fighting"
He agreed, and did a 2M risk fight against some random, and not even 10 seconds later got DDosed lol.
Can they continue to DDos him? What can he do..
Also, is there anything else someone can do with his IP address?

 

As long as they have his IP address they can DDoS him, but that is about all an IP is useful for besides finding the general area that you live in.

Get sygate. You cant get ddosd.

 

Tell him to call his ISP up and state the situation, they should just assign him a new one after that.

 

I'm pretty sure sygate isn't 100% protected. :/

 

You can reset your IP address manually.

If you can get past sygate then your probibly doing bigger things then ddos kids on runescape. Lol but hey i could be wrong.
