Ok so ive been focusing mainly on pvp on my priest as of late getting gear but I also do pve and have 4.7k gearscore. Now on my server the minimum gearscore to get into a raid is 5k gearscore even for VoA which is rediculous imo. For ICC you need 5.2k for 10 man and 5.5k for 25. Now this is bullshit imo as I can out dps 5.5k gearscore people extremely easily so it annoys me to hell when I get denied raids due to lack of gearscore. Just wondering if you guys have hit this wall.
My server people use gearscore but not to that point. My server is comprised of a lot of people that have common sense and don't just rely heavily on gearscore.
People assume Gearscore = skill. The difference between a good raid leader and a bad raid leader is the difference between using GearScore and doing gear checks in Dalaran. For those of us who are -good-, you put minimal GS requirements (like 4k for ICC) and gear check from there.
Getting gearscore isn't a problem it just annoys me that when I goto a main city all I read is 5.5k GS ICC blah blah blah. Even guilds won't let you raid ICC 10 unless you have 5.4k it's rediculous.
4k? 4k gearscore is like a fresh 80. Minimum would be around 5k. People don't assume gearscore = skill, they just use it as a quicker means to find out the level of gear people have, ie potential dps if they know their class.
I HATE people who laugh at people who use gearscore. GEARSCORE = SKILLSCORE isn't the way gearscore works. It's a way to quickly judge someone's gear. There's going to be some people with 4k gs that can out dps someone with 5k gs.... but they shouldn't be able to. For the most part, the higher gs you have, the higher gs you have. It's a great system, in my opinion.
Well people say things like 5500 because it's SOO easy to get gear... even then you will get some retards... lrn2use elitist groups
Gearscore is a nice addon to see how much gear a person has. It's very easy to get 5k gearscore just by doing randoms and the weekly.
