Pretty much an extension to my 'disturbing films' thread, this is one of contemporaries finest, most underlooked and misunderstood films of the last few decades. Director Michael Haneke once said that had he not become a film director- he would then unravel into a serial killer.

There is only one scene of on-screen violence, the rest is suggested. If any of you are at all interested enough to watch this and are confused//looking for answers after the film- i implore you to post here with all of your inquiries.

The clip below is from the US version, which is a shot-for-shot remake by the same director with an american cast. I personally prefer it, because i speak english predominantly- and so the acting is seemingly better because i can identify exact tones and emotions.
