Florida?

I'm interested in moving out of my house with my dad to go live with my mom in Florida.

Facts:

1. I'm 18.
2. I wrestle for a school seeded in the top 3 of New York State.
3. I live with my brother and sister who I am very close with, and my dad and his girlfriend who I don't care for much.
4. My grandparents, aunt & uncle all live very close to me and I have a very good relationship with all of them.
5. This is my Senior year of high school.
6. I'm considering this move because to put it in the most generic way: me and my dad do not see eye-to-eye at all.

Pros:

1. My mom is very laidback, and will give me my independence.
2. I will be getting a fresh start at a new place to live in.
3. I loved visiting Florida.
4. I am a Momma's boy, and I rather live with her.

Cons:

1. I'll miss my family very much..
2. The Education Systems in Florida suck, I heard.
3. I'm afraid I'll be very lonely in Florida.
4. I'm afraid I'll be very homesick in Florida.

Basically I'm asking you guys if you think moving to Florida is a good move for me or not. I'm not extremely worried about the education, as I plan on going to the military after graduating High School - and while in High School enrolling in some of the more studious and prestigious classes the school has to offer. I'm not really to sure what life is like for a teenager in Florida, and that's what I'm interested in. I plan on moving down, joining the school's wrestling team (to make friends and probably be placed as Captain - I'm an extremely good wrestler who has won Counties three times and States once), and eventually getting a job. What's life like though? I need to make the decision today, so I absolutely need help!

I know you are worried about the education, but you are going to do better at a school you are happy at

 

If you prefer to live with your mum, then go for it.

 

Imo just try to grind the last few months of school out with your dad to finish school, then go move in with your mom. you made it this far after all with your dad. An if he gets in your face just tell him to fuck off lmao

 

Florida colleges are quite comparable to New York's, however you will be missing the SUNY system, I'll promise you that much heh.

 

I'd go with Florida, you can visit your family every often. If living would your mum would be more beneficial and make you feel more comfortable I'd say go for that.

 

I thought of this before, do you have friends in Florida

 

Cold and shitty weather, or nice tropical weather? That is the question...

 

I would grind it out since it's your senior year. Maybe start thinking of applying to Universities in Florida, or maybe a Community College to help you settle in. IMO, I would go live with my mom too, just b/c I'm a mommas boy just like you.

 

i live in in florida, and there is a armoury not far from were i live for the military. depends what collage you want to go to tho. but if you prefer living with your mom then id say come on down to florida dude. what ever YOU thinks best then thats what you should do. and also there is a very good school in florida its the university of florida (uf) its awsome. but pick were ever you would feel most comfortable with.
