    Just for the sake of keeping everything organized, may I reccomend you use

    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=461644

    It's already stickied and then doesn't create two threads that people could go it.

    The Whole point of the running water is to was out the wound whilst also reliving it.

    It wouldnt be as affective but since it would be a minor burn then holding it in a bowl of water would still minimise blistering and would relive the pain.

    But if it starts to get infected then you should be dipping it in salt water... and if it stays infected for mroe then approx. 5 days then see a doctor.

    Luckily minor burns arn't much of a worry. Depending on the type of burn...

    For instant;
    A Lime burn, you do not wash it or sit it in water as it will have an acid affect on your skin making it a major burn, instead you would wipe off with a dry cloth or towel or brush and then you have to put it under running water to wash it out.
