False claims.

I've seen that there was a dispute about this guy saying he phishes accounts over msn and he was banned because of it.

I think this should be put in the rules. You should be responsible for all you say. It's basically admitting to it.

"I phish paypal accounts". "I scammed his account". Basically the same thing, no?

Also, don't claim to do be able to do something that you really can't do. This guy was all like "oh i just said that because i wanted to look smart". That isn't a valid reason. You shouldn't brag about being able to do something if you really can't. I think this should be a bannable offence, depending on what the claim is. "I can phish paypal accounts" is a pretty serious and illegal claim.

So uhh. Enough of my rant. Anyone support?

I usually just report it to someone of higher power and they take care of it.

 

Should be in rules, if u see someone doing it just report aswell.

 

The claim isn't illegal, doing so is. This should definitely be a rule though.

 

If you walk into a police station and say you raped some chick, they are gonna change you right?

saying you did or do something is admitting to breaking the law..
therefore your actions are illegal, saying something isn't illegal, but since you said it, it makes what you said relate to a legal matter and therefore become illegal.... right?

Actually, they're going to ask you who you raped and verify it, and they'll know if you didn't. You'll get charged with some kind of technicality but still.

 

the claim is illegal. Saying "I killed ________." is illegal, seeing as you will be arrested on the spot for doing so. So is saying "I scam peoples accounts." is as illegal as doing it.

That's a precaution.
Like I said, they'll verify it first. If they find it to be true then they'll continue with charges, if not you'll get some kind of lesser charges but you're not gonna get a 25 year sentence for claiming to have killed someone out of nowhere.

 

When someone claims this, it is best to report the post. In general, the upper level staff will investigate the issue further, and if evidence is acquired/enough reasonable suspicion is present, consequences are implemented immediately. While it may not be explicit in the rules, it is a general assumption that you are responsible for your posts as an individual user on the forums, and therefore, are responsible for any consequences that may result from that.

 

So, theres a certain user going around with there signature saying "Do not trade with you, cause I will scam you"

Would it be up for us to report them and let the mods take over?
