Donator Namechanges.

I am familiar with the fact that namechanges are not allowed to regular members and are given to Staff Members only, however, it would be very convenient both for Sythe as an organisation and community members to receive name changes through donations. It's not up to me to decide what should be the price for this but it would help a lot of users who have serious intentions on Sythe including me.

 

No support it would only allow scamming to be easier people would be confused as to who is who and it would lead to a lot of drama I can see it already.

 

On the DNS list, this isn't going to happen.

 

Not if there is some sort of archive, or a limit on how many times you can change it. In fact, you could set some sort of delay until the next time you could change it. I've also seen plugins that allow you to see "Previously XXX".

Allowing this for a certain donation rank would bring in more donors, as this has always been sought after. Has anyone here ever dove into buying a RS membership mainly because it allows you to change your screen name? Just think of all the people that bought members, even if it was just 1 month, just to change their display name.

People shouldn't be donating for the perks they should be donating because it's donations. It's called donating for a reason. You would also open up to twice as many impostors that would become available.

 

Although I do agree donating shouldn't be for a reward, it's evident people don't care. The only real reason people donate to forum or game nowadays, is because there is some sort of incentive.

Impostors? It's not like the user is changing their whole profile, it's just a screen name. Besides, there could be rules against taking someone else's name for a certain time........ almost like Runescape.

 

It's not just changing the name though. When you have gained reputation as someone as it suddenly changes it will leave people confused especially people whom are new to the site. Whether you may or may not believe it it will lead to drama one way or another I'm 100% sure of that.

 

They can create special namechange icons similar to donator ones which upon hovering can show your old name. The namechanges can be limited up to 1.

if we did allow it it would cause alot of confusion also , and alot of people will be acussing other people of scamming them then changing name then some proof of scams wouldn't be valid
