    Does God Exist?

If I had to make a bet that God does not exist, I would bet my entire existence. The whole purpose of this argument is over God and whether or not he exists and truly created everything including me so if I was wrong and believing in the wrong things my whole life, then what would be my purpose? It’s a bet that I am willing to make.

Everyone talks about miracles and how things are a ‘God send’ but what about the things that don’t happen and the people that remain suffering? I strongly believe in coincidence. Suppose you know someone with a terminal disease which cannot be medically cured and like most humans, you pray diligently for the miraculous recovery of that person but what are the chances of that actually happening? For some people, it may happen and they may get lucky but who’s to say it’s not coincidental that that person is still alive? How about the other 99.99% of people that suffered with that same disease and did pass away and their prayers have gone unanswered? Where was their miracle and where was God for them when they needed him?

I am a firm believer in facts and statistics, people and things that are tangible and that I can see for myself. Would you believe me if I pointed to the empty space next to you and told you there was a ghost or something that you couldn’t see? You would most likely tell me I was crazy and not believe what I was telling you. How would I know there was a ghost there if I couldn’t see it either but I told you there was? You have the same argument that I would have about God’s existence as I would for the ghost next to you. I can’t see it but I have faith that it is there although you may not just as you believe there is a God and can’t see him. You have faith in what you believe in but no physical evidence to support your belief which is what defines faith itself.

As most humans I ask myself what my purpose is in life and the reasoning behind our existence. Most believers often use the bible as a reference to support their belief in God. Have you ever noticed that each time you support an idea by referencing the bible, a new question is asked? When have you ever come to a final conclusion through the bible? Chances are you haven’t or you would have the answer to just about everyone in the world’s million dollar question. I view the bible as a loop. Something that never gives you an answer but just leads to more questions until you eventually come back to your original question. Where is the support behind everything the bible stands for?

Evolution is very possible as it is happening right before our eyes every day. How could a non physical being move or create something? You never see a tree spontaneously fall over without something physically influencing it whether it is wind, lightning, a person, or an object. You may argue that wind is not tangible either although there is scientific reasoning behind wind and why it exists unlike the existence of God.

Argue your points. I'd be glad to hear what you think.

You sound confident with that answer. What makes you so sure?

    Does God Exist?

The concept of the existence of God lacks empirical evidence.
Therefore it is illogical to think that a God exists. That's why people came up with the term "Faith": It's essentially an excuse to be delusional.

Look at the earth, at all creation.

That's such an unbelievably rash statement. You have faith in the chairs you sit on to hold your weight. You have faith that when you get into your car, it'll take you somewhere. So with your logic, that makes you delusional too?

    Does God Exist?

The existence of this universe is just as easily explained with science and known facts as it is with religion.

Faith is the belief of something without proof.

I have proof that my chair can hold my weight because It has yet to break.
I have proof that my car will take me somewhere because it got me to and from my house today.
I have no proof that there is a God, because there is no proof.

You have used your chair before and it held you up, therefor you have faith that it will do again the next time. That's not proof.

But what if you speak to someone who's seen a miracle? I believe that would be called proof.

It is evident that my chair works because I know by what means the chair is supposed to hold my weight, the laws of physics and the effects of gravity on me and my surroundings. Collectively, it forms the proof that my chair can support my weight.

Every 'miracle' has an explanation, and few are recorded. I could say that my great grandmother was terminally ill and miraculously healed overnight, and no one would be the wiser - though plenty would jump at the chance to praise their God for my false fortune.

More like he thinks there is a high probability that his chair will hold his weight be cause it has been proven to hold his weight for hundreds of times previously.

Does he know 100% that the chair will hold his weight the next time? No.

Oh...by the way, arguing without evidence/proof isn't even allowed in this forum section so...
