Does anyone snowboard?

I'm looking into getting into snowboarding this year. Any advice for buying my first boarding gear?

 

There are different types of boards, so I would look into that. Gear is up to you.

 

Triple Nickel tends to be pretty cheap but still good quality. Burton is more expensive, but lasts longer. make sure you don't forget your leash, they won't let you on the mountain without one. I'll be going at least twice a month once the season starts here in the next few weeks. SOOOO excited

 

I know there are different types, looking for recommendations.

What do you mean by leash? Also how are SIMS boards? There are two that I'm looking at right now, perhaps you can tell me what you think?

Air walk and 50-50 were my first boards. If you want a nicer one go burton

 

And just FYI you have to buy bindings and boots on top of that board you linked us.

 

The leash comes with the bindings, and I forgot it at home the first time I ever went snowboarding because I thought it was just a random replacement part in case something broke, but it's actually a mandatory safety feature for most if not all mountains. It'll be a little nylon strap with a metal clasp

I snowboard a lot. My first board was a ride. I would recommend something in here: http://ridesnowboards.com/snowboards/mens/all-mountain

They're good boards to learn on and then you can even carry them over to the terrain park when you want to explore the mountain more. They're kind of an all-purpose board that you can use all around the mountain. It's perfect for exploring what kind of snowboarder you're going to be. I'd get freestyle bindings just because you're going to venture the park at some point seeing as you're a teenage boy and they provide a lot of stability. Boots were never really a big deal to me, as long as they're tight and you don't feel like they loosen up too easily then they're fine. DC boots are nice to start.

It's wierd, when I go skiing which is like twice a year we go for like 1 week - 2 weeks in France ok. It's like really expensive, how much does it cost you in America to go for like 1 day?

Ot: Make sure you look bamf aha. I can't help much on the board and stuff other than I know that my brother has a burton one and it's sicccccccck, but make sure you firslty invest in some good goggles, you don't want them steaming up. You can get them real cheap now-a-days, especially in America. I own some Oakley Crowbars, and you can get them really cheap on ebay or something at the moment. Dragon are also good, look into dragon DX's or something.

I know that while my bro was learning, he got through loads of gloves. Make sure your gloves are THICK, and i mean really really god dam thick because you're going to be putting your hands down loads. Also invest in some thick ski trousers because you're gunna be on your ass tonnes.

 

I personally discovered that wearing those clothe finger-gloves and over them some water-proof MITTENS works best
