Disputing my Ban

Username is exapto. I'm here to dispute my ban, detailed as: advertising site in pm.

Regarding the nature of my actions, I was completely accepting of a temporary ban for misunderstanding the rules, in that, while they clearly state:

Advertising: Advertising a site in a post will result in an infraction. Multiple offences permit up to a month ban. Includes links to other Markets, Goldfarm sites, etc.. If you wish to legitimately advertise your site on Sythe.org then e-mail: [email protected]. Advertising Bots / Accounts will be permanently banned. There was nothing clearly defining its application to private messaging; it only regarded advertising in posts. So I decided to take advantage of that, and I admit I advertised via PM, when I then received a reasonable PM from RwmRS2 stating that the rule also applied to personal messages.

After receiving this PM, I was shortly thereafter temporarily banned until the 4th of March (I had no problem with this, as my actions broke the rules in light of this extension of guidelines). But then I noticed that I was permanently banned...

But a permanent ban has been stated suitable for Advertising bots/accounts only, and from my Sythe history, I am certainly not an advertising account, let alone a bot. I simply advertised via PM, received an infraction for doing so, was made known of its violation of the rules, and was accepting of the temporary ban. Heck, remaining within the rules, a one month ban is guaranteed at most.


I am asking for a reduction in ban time, as per the justification of my actions in regards to my knowledge of and literal interpretation of the official site rules.


If I am not given a reduction in ban time, I would like to request that the official rules be edited so that they might explicitly state the rule's application to not just posting but to private messaging as well. I would hate for another user to fall into the same misunderstanding as I have.

 

I infracted you as it was your first violation, I'm not sure why you were temporarily banned, I'll have a look in to this. Thank you for being patient.
