Display UI?

Since name changes obviously wont be allowed because the idea is just being neglected like every other idea in this section.

Why not make display UI's such as they do in runescape for the 200 dollar donors +. It'll work as they do now, all their posts under their name will remain the same and they'll be easily found if anyones looking for them. Although their UI will be different than their current login name. I'd totally donate another hundred dollars for the display username image Hasty.


With a few rules such as.

- Can't be totally different.
- Will have to be approved by an admin first.
- Etc Etc Etc

 

Then your name should change completely. It'd get too confusing.

 

^^ Agreed, there isn't really a point in your UI saying one thing but really being the other. Sorry but I don't support.

 

Maybe you don't understand the concept. It wont be a name change, it'll be a display name that'd be completely cosmetic and have no other advantage other than being exactly that. It'd be extremely uncomplicated and not confusing at all? Exactly how would it be confusing anyways?

And like I mentioned above it wouldn't be something completely different from your login name, it'd be taking off a few numbers or leaving out a word but still leaving your name similar so it doesn't cause confusion such as matt hasty to hasty.

I mean I guess it could work the way you just explained. If people are going to donate 200$ just for a name change then all the power to them. I guess I support it that way but don't see much of a purpose for it.

 

I mean if you really want I'd ask Admins if you can get your name changed to that if you get to $200 donor.

If anything maybe a donation of $200+ would allow you to have your name changed once or twice.

 

It wouldn't be too confusing if you were to have some sort of indication of the user's original username.

The purpose is to hide your shit name when you post, that's the only purpose of getting a name change anyways. You're not obviously going to put it in a toy machine and win a prize, its just a display name. I can't explain it any more than that.
